Abstract :
The new manufacturing paradigm Industry 4.0 or Industrial Internet of Things refers to digitized and connected industrial value creation. This development is assumed to yield extensive industry-spanning opportunities. However, using these opportunities needs a targeted implementation of the IIoT. The goal of this study is to generate a deeper understanding of relevant implementation actions that need to be taken in IIoT. The frameworks that have been presented so far, have been mainly designed for a specific section of IIoT and management or business viewpoints have not been considered in them. So, the goal of this article is to shed light on complicated process of IIoT implementation to obtain the complete potential opportunity. At the first step, a beta version of practical implementation framework of IIoT is presented by means of systematic literature review. Then it presented in an expert panel which led to general recommendations. Besides, semi-structured in-depth interviews have been done as primary source comments on the first version of framework. After reforming the framework according to the recommendations, to validate it, the framework was presented to another expert population via a questionnaire in structured interviews. All interviews are transcribed and serve as text material to be examined according to the qualitative content analysis. This article develops a comprehensive framework providing necessary and effective actions to be taken when implementing digital and connected future industrial value creation. The framework included twelve sections which are strategy, business, usage, function, implementation, customers, suppliers, key partners, key resources, blockchain, skills and improvisation. For future work, the framework can be customized practically in an industrial plant or site.
