Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between parents' parenting styles and the perceived stress of female students. The method of the current research was correlational. For this purpose, among all sixth grade female students in one district of Tabriz city and their parents, 301 were selected by random cluster sampling method and tested using Cohen's questionnaire (1983) and Bamrind's questionnaire (1967). Multiple regression test was used to analyze the data. The results of simultaneous regression analysis showed that among parenting styles of parents, there is a negative and significant relationship between authoritative parenting style and perceived stress at a significant level (p<0.05). And there is a positive and significant relationship between authoritarian parenting style and perceived stress at a significant level (p<0.05). But there is no significant relationship between permissive parenting style and perceived stress. According to the findings and the importance of parents' parenting styles, it is suggested to provide a suitable platform for teaching parenting styles to families
